Sunday’s Rock

Sundays are pretty cool. Janine and myself got up and went for a walk around Kew before heading to Kim and Matts to repair a rc helicopter. Which I did with help of Dans soldering iron. After having an awesome lunch and a beer Janine and myself headed off to the hawthorn hotel to catch up with some of Janine’s friends who have their own band called “Patterns for Paper”. Their performance was awesome! Looking forward to watching their next gig. After all that we are now just kicking back at Janine’s watching tv. Can’t wait til next weekend.

The High Country

With Christmas out the way and the new year coming, it was
time for Janine and myself to exit the hustle and bustle, and head
into the high country. After a quick test trial out the back of
ferntree gully I knew the land cruiser was ready to tear up some
mud. We hit the Mansfield shire around 10 am on Tuesday morning
with one quick pull over to lock the front wheels in, we were on
our way. I can personally say that land cruisers are way more
comfortable and needless to say way more reliable. The main mission
was to head into Wannagatta but as we approached the end of the
first section there was a sign up saying road closed. Wasn’t very
happy with this but hey plans change and the show must go on. So
instead of Wannangatta we headed back to Lovick’s hut to spend the
first night. All was good and we managed to have a camp fire as
well, which was good. The next morning we decided we were gunna
head off to craig’s hut and then onto buttercup road. Getting to
craig’s hut was easy enough but the next section was a bit of a
head ache. From craig’s hut the first section of circuit road was
blocked which meant we had to go the long way through telephone
junction. I dealt with that ok but the final blow came when we were
20 mins away from camp and we hit another road closed. Wasn’t happy
with this so I pretended not to see this and ventured on. Ten
minutes in … I remembered that I did see the sign and returned
promptly. Can’t believe what water can do to a track. There was
crevices the size of my 4×4! We finally made it camp where we met
up with Karl and a few of his troops. A few beers and a bit of food
saw us heading to bed early. With that tho came with breaking camp
early and heading into Mansfield for brekky. After that we headed
back to Tatura where we are gunna spend news years with some
friends. Happy New Year to every one and play
safe!

I do … Mud

Where do I start. Last weekend I decided I needed a new truck, the hilux just wasn’t cutting it any more. I also thought it may be time to start looking at land cruisers. Can you believe by Sunday I had found a vehicle that I wanted. By Wednesday I was driving it home! It comes with all the features one says they are going to do to their ride. 4″ lift, 35″ tires, dual batteries, front & rear lockers and rock sliders. It’s a 4.2 diesel with only 194,000 on the clock. I’m wrapped it’s the best ever.

Bendigo

On the weekend just gone myself and Janine drove up to Bendigo to visit some old mates that I lived with in the UK. Even before we left the metropolitan it had started to pour down which made road conditions a little more challenging. After a couple of stops and a gps glitch we arrived at Bill & Christine’s safely. Not long after that we hit the piss. I think we all woke up a little shaky and not quite with it, which was alright because it was voting day (who really wants to be well when voting). Seeings I didn’t pack a pair of pants we headed off to the shops to grab a pair, mean while the rain was still throwing it down. At this stage I had a quick think and declared it time to start drinking again. Bill showed us all the local pubs as we tested their beers. Not long after that we were home and got stuck into the piss again (bless us). I’m not sure how we got talked into it but me and bill found ourselves having a swim in a middle of a storm, mind you it was a short swim. Once out and dried off it was time for dinner which was Christine’s delicious lasagna (yum). A few more hours in saw us ringing the UK and annoying some old friends. Sunday morning saw us creep out of bed at a little later time but not to late to enjoy Christine’s beautiful fry up. All in all Janine and myself had a great time. Cheers to Bill & Christine for their hospitality!

Out with the old in with the new

You would never believe what happened last night. I had just finished downloading cod black ops for the Xbox and managed to get five minutes of play in before I got the dreaded 3 flashing lights. My first thoughts were “life is over” but then I shook my head and thought again “I know … I’ll buy another one” and that I did. This one has the kinect camera which is awesome. Babeola loves the dance game that came with it and I love the games that came with the camera. So what we’re doing is mixing alcohol and Xbox together and having our own little party!!!

Sunday Wii Action

After a nice sleep in we finally got up and had a beautiful breaky prepared by Janine herself. Once full and showers we headed out together to get some screen protectors for my iPhone 4. Just before we headed back we got a couple of boost juice drinks which carried us thru too this afternoon where we have setup the Wii. From here on Janine has hogged the tv … Bless her
