The Video

I have started playing around with Final Cut Pro and am a newbie at it. In saying that this is part 1 of my trip away.

High Country Trip

Finally after 2 years of no four wheel driving, it finally happened. I met up with a couple of mates at Woods Point after work Friday night. That part of the trip took a little longer than I thought it would (like 3 1/2 hours). Any how we got set up and had the fire going with a couple of drinks at hand, and discussed what the plan was for the morning. The next morning we didn’t have to hike to far for our first challenge. The last time I tried this I had the Hilux and it just wasn’t up it. I was feeling quite nervous when tempting this, but that was not the case, put the front and rear lockers on and just cruised up in no time at all. From there we drove past Crows Hut and down to the cascades, which we found to be a popular destination, and also made our job of finding a camp site more difficult. Once again we got settled with a fire and drinks were soon in hand. The next day we had some sore heads and didn’t break camp until 12:00 pm. This days journey to the Jamison valley was awesome, we had all the seasons and conditions. It was a full on day. I even got bogged and Mr Mods got me out. With journey taking us up to Bluff hut were there was plenty of snow and couple of snow ball fights, and then down into the valley to another awesome camp site. This is where I farewelled the boys and headed home to a nice hot shower and my own bed. This was definitely one of the best trips I have done.

Queens Birthday Long Weekend

Hey there people, Queens Birthday long weekend has come and been. Our FireAs usual I went 4wd and had a ball, we started at Crowes Hut and headed east to the bottom of the butcher track, which I might add was an awesome little trip with heaps of cool scenery. I will be putting pictures up soon (as soon as I find my camera … Its in the Hilux … somewhere !?!?). We set up camp and pulled down a dead tree and had a massive fire which we also used to cook up some mean grub. I had a steak sandwich and it was bloody beautiful. The next day we packed up and headed up to the butcher track. Now after doing this track I know why they call it that. Towards the top the weather changed so not only did we have a mean track ahead off us we had rain and snow. I was getting a little worried because after 10 – 15 mins of this the tracks were becoming very slippery and I’ve only done a few tracks. About 30 hour on the tracks become rivers and looked very cool, but probably wouldn’t have been if I had of broken down. At the top the weather just got worse and I pulled the pin. The other two blokes stayed to camp in the snow but I was worried that we we’re going to be snowed in and wouldn’t be able to get off the mountain the next day, so I headed off that night and did a bit of a night mission which was fun but visibility in the snow at night was quite a different adventure of its own. Over all It was an awesome trip and would do it again, now looking forward to our next trip.
